Welcome to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Orlando Chapter's webpage.
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
I bring you greetings on behalf of the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 2020 president of the pioneering chapter in the Orlando community. Chartered in 1947, the Delta Omicron Omega chapter has serviced Orlando, Florida, and its surrounding cities, with initiatives that support education, promote health awareness and strengthen the social welfare of those who dwell in and around the community.
As the first Greek-letter organization established by African American college-trained women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has maintained a focus on sisterhood, scholarship and service to all mankind. Under the leadership of our 30th International President, Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover, we continue to perpetuate our organization’s purpose by Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. This platform addresses the needs of the community with programs in five target areas:
- HBCU for Life: A Call to Action
- Women’s Healthcare and Wellness
- Building your Economic Legacy
- The Arts
- Global Impact
The Petals of Hope Foundation, Inc. is our charitabe arm. Through our foundation we have funded over $50,000 to Advent Health in support of our Transport to Care Fund, sponsored thousands of dollars in academic scholarships, as well as supported our annual Senior Luncheon among many other community ventures. Please consider visiting that website at www.petalsofhope.org.
Built on a legacy of over 72 years of service, the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter will continue to execute excellence within the community. By expanding our local partnerships, we will strive to become the premier service organization in Orlando, Florida and its surrounding cities.
We thank you for visiting our website and encourage you to delve further into our site to review the 2020 vision of our chapter as we continue to fulfill our purpose.
With a Giver’s Glow,
Bettina L. Branch,
Chapter President
